Right now the Blockade at Maules Creek is fighting Whitehaven Coal to protect the critically endangered Leard State forest from the construction of a gigantic new coal mine, that will release as much C02 as the entire country of New Zealand if it's not stopped – every single year for 27 years.

Construction of this mine will destroy habitat for 34 different threatened animal species, rip up sacred indigenous sites and burial grounds, siphon huge amounts of water away from local farms and seriously damage our chances of a safe climate.

The blockade to stop them has been going for more than 2 years now, and they're really giving Whitehaven a fight. But blockading doesn't turn a (financial) profit, and they need our support to continue in this critical, landmark fight for our future.

So come along and buy a beer, grab a pizza and enjoy some great local Brisbane Music to raise money and awareness for the fight.
