First Nations Film Festival
Tuesday, 30 May 2023 - 10:00am to Saturday, 3 June 2023 - 10:00pmonline
Experience the power of First Nations storytelling by joining The First Nations Film Festival 2023 (formerly VIFF - Virtual Indigenous Film Festival), a groundbreaking film festival bringing together filmmakers, artists, and community to engage in meaningful discussions, empowering all of us to #BeAVoiceForGenerations.
In 2023, First Nations Film Festival will be hosting its 6th edition, curated around the themes of Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. The festival features award-winning features, documentaries, and short films, accessible over five days on our unique streaming platform, FanForceTV.
The theme "Be a voice for generations" is all about taking action to support and advocate for positive change that will benefit both present and future generations. As we celebrate Reconciliation Week, let's honour the voices of First Nations artists and filmmakers who have used their talents to inspire change and make a difference for their communities.
This year, the First Nations Film Festival is supporting and raising funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is a national charity of the Australian Book Industry, working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote Communities across Australia. They are Community-led, responding to requests from remote Communities for culturally relevant books, including early learning board books, resources, and programs to support Communities.
Audiences will be able to donate to the ILF during the film screenings via our LiveChat function.
