Galilee Rising

Sunday, 15 March 2020 - 5:00pm to Sunday, 22 March 2020 - 8:00am
Frontlines, Central Queensland

Adani are laying the groundwork to dewater their catastrophic coal mine in the Galilee - preparing to drain precious groundwater - at a time when Queensland is in massive drought and fires rage across Australia.

It’s time to unite behind the science our elected representatives dangerously choose to ignore. Our political leaders are putting billionaires before the community. Gautam Adani, Clive Palmer and Gina Rinehart are the real winners if coal mining starts up in the Galilee Basin.

That's why scientists from across the country are bravely stepping up to do what it takes to protect our future and #StopAdani.

Will you join us on the frontline in March, as we peacefully resist Adani's mine and take action to protect the climate?

Read more about heading to the frontline here:

WHAT: Science professionals, researchers and students peacefully and defiantly stopping Adani and rising for the Galilee.

WHERE: Central Queensland, on the frontline

Arrive by Sunday 15th March, to hit the ground running on Monday morning. If you have not done Nonviolent Direct Action training, aim to arrive by Saturday 14th March

Depart from Sunday 22nd March

You can of course arrive earlier and depart later - it's up to you.

Note: All science fields are welcome and encouraged to participate from ecology, reef, agriculture, water and climate to everything in between. Ofcourse, everyone and anyone is welcome to attend, even with no science background.

Together we can #StopAdani and create a safe climate future for us all.
