350.org Canberra

Thursday, 25 February 2016 -
6:30pm to 9:00pm
The Food Co-op Shop & Cafè, 3 Kingsley St, Canberra

Whitehaven Coal are about to commence 6 weeks of further clearing of the Leard State Forest to make way for more open cut coal mines, which will also see the destruction of the Gomeroi people's last sacred site in the area, Lawler’s Well.

Front Line Action on Coal (FLAC), a grassroots organisation, are gearing up again to take a stand against this environmental and cultural injustice by using peaceful non-violent direct action to save this significant area.

We’re holding a film, food and fun tunes evening on 25 February to raise much needed funds for those taking action.

What: short films and speeches about the campaign, an opportunity to learn more about 350.Org's 2016 campaigns, wholesome food, acoustic music, and good company. Hopefully even a live-cross to the Leard protector's camp!

Entry: $15 for waged and $10 for unwaged/students. Delicious home-cooked tucker for $5 a plate

Many dedicated people are taking time off work, away from their families, and putting their bodies on the line to support this campaign. They need your support! Please help us get the “bats” (Leard protectors) back to the forest so that we can send a clear message that is mine has no place in 2016.

All proceeds with go towards FLAC's latest efforts
