Refugee Action Collective (Victoria)

Friday, 26 February 2016 - 6:30pm
120-150 Camp Road Broadmeadows VIC

Many of the refugees threatened with return to Nauru and Manus are stuck inside MITA, and unless we can force a change of policy, will be removed from here back to offshore camps. Hear from regular visitors, and hear messages from refugees awaiting return to Nauru, and hear what we can do about it.

Speakers include: Reza Yaramahadi, Kurdish refugee, Alex Bhathal from The Greens and Sister Brigid Arthur from the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project.
Join with us in a candelight vigil at MITA (Broadmeadows detention centre). Stand in solidarity with the Lady Cilento Hospital workers, the unionists, the churches and the refugees here and on Manus and Nauru and send a clear message - #closethecamps and #letthemstay.

Eco-shout national grassroots events calendar promotes actions, protests, film screenings, public forums, campaign training, workshops, conservation, revegetation and gatherings for environmental and social justice. Check out how much it's kicking off around the country - together we are lots! Add an event and we'll share it through social media at peak times and do our best to shout about it. Share the calendar with your grumpy mates who think there's nothing going on.
