Marisa Holmes is a NY-based activist, organiser, filmmaker and writer. She was an occupier from day one of OWS and has since been active in its many offshoots such as Strike Debt, and Occupy Sandy, anti-racist solidarity work in Black Lives Matter, and anti-fascism.

Marisa’s All Day All Week: An Occupy Wall Street Story (director) captures the Zuccotti Park occupation by drawing on extensive footage and her book Organizing OWS studies the movement’s processes and structures based on assemblies, collective statements and live tweets.

Marisa offers the good, bad, and ugly of the OWS moment – what worked and what didn’t, the lessons and potential for future change.

Q&A facilitated by Holly Hammond from The Commons Library.
Hosted by New International Bookshop (NIBS). FREE

Eco-shout national grassroots events calendar promotes actions, protests, film screenings, public forums, campaign training, workshops, conservation, revegetation and gatherings for environmental and social justice. Check out how much it's kicking off around the country - together we are lots! Add an event and we'll share it through social media at peak times and do our best to shout about it. Share the calendar with your grumpy mates who think there's nothing going on.
