9:00am to 5:00pm
Sidney Myer Asia Centre, Melbourne
Victoria

Off the back of our first major summer fundraiser "Gimme Shelter!", the Road to Refuge team are thrilled to announce Paths to Change - A Conference for the Refugee Sector, organised in partnership with the Amnesty Refugee Network - VIC.

Paths to Change will be focused on providing individuals with skills to become powerful advocates for people seeking asylum. By attending the conference, you will develop a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding issues within the refugee and asylum sector, as well as practical skills for implementing change.

By registering, every participant will attend four 50-minute workshops, run by presenters already engaged within the sector, throughout the day. All attendees will also have the chance to attend a Q&A panel, and a Sector Expo featuring stalls from various organisations within the sector. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Sessions which will run on the day include the following topics:

  • Words that Work to Change the Conversation
  • “Get Outta My Way” - Supporting People to be Their Own Agents of Change
  • A Better Home for All - A Plan of Action for Improving Asylum Seeking in this Country
  • How to Talk to Your MP About Issues that Concern You
  • and many more.

Registration is $15 for concession and $18 for adults.
