Public forum: Preventing crimes against nature

Thursday, 12 February 2015 - 6:00pm
Environmental Justice Australia Level 3, the 60L Green Building, 60 Leicester Street, Carlton

Ongoing biodiversity loss and mass extinction implies that decades of legal protection for nature haven’t stopped its destruction. This forum brings together four key panelists to discuss how the legal system can be changed to better protect nature and sustain life.

Featuring special guests;

Nicola Rivers – Director of Advocacy and Research at Environmental Justice Australia

Dr Alessandro Pelizzon – Southern Cross University’s School of Law and Justice

Professor Kate Auty – former Victorian Government Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability and 2014 Vice-Chancellor

Ellen Sandell – State MP for Melbourne
