Stop Adani and Kooyong Climate ActionSaturday, 5 October 2019 - 5:00pm
Balwyn Library, 336 Whitehorse Road, BalwynVictoria
You were wowed out by the Climate Strike, became even more determined to "do something", and weren't sure what to do next or who to turn to. The future is looking bleak, but you were uplifted by the huge turnout and the strong sense of collaboration.
This is where we find out some ways to put this into practice.
We will listen to the school strikers, find out what they need, and what our allies can offer. Let's put our heads together and workshop a way forward. It's time for Victorians to lead in accelerating our energy transformation and creating thousands of good, well paying renewables jobs. It's time to listen to our vulnerable communities and our young people who are crying out for climate justice. Its time to pull our fingers out!
Join us for this inspiring workshop with school strikers and climate allies to reshape our future and build power. With input from Environment Victoria and the Indi Campaign.
About Kooyong Climate Action
Kooyong people want action on climate, and our new working groups are pushing ahead with effective local and national campaigns. Check out our pages for these working groups on our website:Stop Adani, Local Power and Climate Emergency.
The Kooyong alliance is in the process of forming new action groups - energy transition; laying the groundwork for a climate emergency declaration; accelerating local emissions reduction and preparing for the Council elections; and making sure that Australians are protected against the massive impacts new of coal mines, especially in the Galilee Basin, the home of the fourth largest source of carbon on the planet.
