Sprout Community Market and Open Gate

Thursday, 5 March 2015 -
1:00pm to 7:00pm
Corner of Watt and Clapham St, Thornbury (near Thornbury station)

Sprout Community Market is a monthly local community market - First Thursday of the month (winter / Jan / Feb excepted) 3 to 7pm. Sprout is a Community Garden for people recovering from mental illness, drug & alcohol issues or at risk of homelessness. There's organic grown veggies and fruit, organic seedlings, home made preserves, bread and artisan wares, local craft and design stalls, live music, kids activities and more.

Plastic bags and utensils are banned at the rubbish-free market, and all food will be sold in biodegradable packaging, with scraps composted on site.

Sprout runs programs in the following areas: Garden; Kitchen, Workshop, Market and Office. The market has a variety of stalls and music and forms an outlet for what is being produced on site, whilst offering stalls to vendors from the wider community – encouraging local community strength, connection and community enterprise.

We’d love people to come and support the market - either by having a stall, volunteering on the day or with preparation, helping out in the gardens and workshops or just coming along to the market! If anyone is interested in having a stall, volunteering or selling surplus produce, or just want general information, please contact us on 9484 5565 or email sprout@mindaustralia.org.au.

Sprout also has Open Gate each Thursday from 1 to 4pm for people to come and have a look around and buy organically grown seedlings, plants and produce (picked as you wait - can't get fresher than that) for sale.
