A house of four seeks its fifth mate. We just moved into this amazing house a couple of weeks ago and we love it! We’re at the north end of Northcote, a few minutes walk from All Nations Park, nicely situated between both Darebin and Merri Creek. The house is a pretty open plan with a great kitchen / living room, a sun room, a couple of sheds, a pizza oven and a garden with fruit trees and veggie beds. We are still in the process of getting settled, but so far it’s looking good.
So far we've been living fairly communally, sharing shopping and cooking dinners for each other. We’d love to have another housemate who’s happy to share and help out with the garden. None of us eat meat but it's OK if you do. Some of us smoke (outside only, of course). The house will be great for entertaining, dinners, etc. but it won’t really be a party house -- you can party on High St if you want, which is walking distance. We've got a bit of a board games collection and no TV, but we're going to try setting up a projector in the living room for the odd movie night. We've got a sound system / record player and lots of instruments. The house has a few toilets and space to move around, so you won't feel like you're on anyone's toes.
A bit about us:
Hamish (31) - works in Outdoor Ed and loves growing veggies, making preserves and playing music.
Sarah (32) - teaches English at a high school in Essendon and is a keen runner.
Fi (27) - a consumer advocate around sexual health. She has endometriosis and often works from home.
Ruby (23) - studying dance and working in a bakery.
A bit about the room:
The room's a good size - about 3.5x4m, and the rent is $700/month. Bond is $400. It's got good light and it's off the kitchen. There are no wardrobes, but there is enough space for you to have storage inside. The house also has a lot of storage space in the sheds and cupboards.
A bit about you:
You are well-versed in sharehouse living, able to pay rent each month, and happy to respectfully cohabitate with others. You are willing to participate in communal food/dinners and able to communicate with your housemates.
If you're interested, send us a bit of info about yourself and what you're looking for in a house. With easing restrictions it may be possible for you to come check it out, otherwise we can organise an online chat. Looking forward to hearing from you.
