We are looking for a fifth wondrous human to share our Fairfield sharehouse - room is available from the 20th June - ongoing
The home (people and people-related things):
We share food and regularly cook for each other and find this is an important axis on which the house turns, a way to enjoy life together and catch up. Everyone is in their mid to late thirties. We are looking for someone who likes to share food communally, and appreciates open comms and chats. Ideally we would like someone aged from their late twenties and above.
Elizabeth: An outdoors osteopath Steiner teacher, baker of an ever evolving buckwheat loaf, and giver of full-bosomed hugs (shares the self-contained bungalow out the back with Christine)
Christine: A Steiner primary teacher, Qi-gong enthusiast and lover of many teas.
Emma: A theatre-maker who works in education, fashionista and lover of the fine things in life, she brings a bluesy playlist to the house.
Anna: A queer clown and teaching artist, relentless maker of hot chocolate, with a ready supply of funny voices.
The house (bricks and mortar):
-Your room is medium sized, with built robes and wooden floorboards
- a few blocks away from the Yarra River, close to leafy Darebin Parklands, and walking distance to Fairfield and Alphington train stations and Station Street Shops.
- large open plan kitchen with big oven and gas stove for baking as you please (and please do!)
- a lush back garden with a large vegetable garden with plenty of potential, and an orchard of fruit trees, complete with hammock for cloud-watching and stargazing
- Chickens with full egg laying capacities
-Three verandahs (side, front and back) and three living spaces (dining room, lounge and yoga/movement space)
-Four baths (one in the ensuite, one 3/4 sized shared indoors and two outdoors, for warm romantic evenings, either solo or with an intimate other)
Rent for your room is $806. We pay $366 for a food and bills kitty pcm (which goes mainly towards organic wholefoods).
If you like what you've read about the house and people and can see yourself being part of it, you are likely to be someone we would like to talk to! We warmly welcome and people from all backgrounds, genders and sexualities to apply.
Sorry, no couples or cats.
These are the times we have set aside for meeting with potential new housemates. We're fairly busy humans, so we will need you to be free during one of these times - thanks in advance!:
